Women's safety in India

The various Indian governments have introduced many laws for women’s safety in India. Yet,   this problem  remains a serious  one till today. In the case of Unnaao rape incident, the victim  has lost her father , two aunts and battling for life in the hospital along with her lawyer  in addition, to fighting for justice all along in the courts , despite meager resources . The UP government is not  ashamed of the  highest  crime rate  against women (14. 5 %) nor was it prompt in taking stern action against  the ruling party member and the lawmaker for indulging  in all sorts of atrocities in this case.   This silent spectator attitude of the party high commands only emboldens the political class to violate laws . But for the intervention of the Supreme court, justice to the victim would not have been done. But ,the worrying part of this whole incident is that, if the victims of crimes against women  will get gender justice only from courts then, what is the use of women safety laws?  How many women have the resources for legal battle
